Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Hey, what is this "Rayman 2 HD" thing all about?

A: Rayman 2 HD is a ground-up remake of Rayman 2: The Great

Escape, developed by a team of dedicated volunteers.

Q: Cool! What engine are you using to make this?

A: The love of the fans. And Unreal Engine 4.

Q: Which version is this based off of?

A: Rayman 2 HD is a kind of hybrid: it's essentially a remake of the Dreamcast version (considered by many, even Michel Ancel himself, to be the definitive version of the game), with many additions from all the other versions.

Q: Additions from all the other versions? So, you're going to add the hub level from Revolution, right?

A: Not exactly, we're doing our own level selection system. We can't properly show it yet, but we're confident that it will be an interesting addition.

Q: Well, tell me more about it! How are you handling the content from the other versions?

A: We're using Revolution as the basis for our graphical detail, the Nintendo 64 version for some of the music, and we're also taking a few things from the PlayStation version. By the end of the development, we're looking to have a mix that will hopefully please fans of every version.

Q: Is the combat going to be overhauled, like in Rayman 3?

A: While not a major highlight of the game, the combat will definitely receive some slight but noticeable tweaks to make it a tad more engaging.

Q: What platform will this be available for?

A: We're focusing on a PC-only release for now, though other versions like macOS and Linux are possible.

Q: Alright, yeah, this all sounds very promising. But now, the most important question: does it come with a free beach ball?

A: No.
